Iberdrola Mexico Recognizes Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems with Outstanding Equipment Provider Award

Iberdrola Honors Quality, Innovation, Job Creation, Environmental Stewardship, Ethics and Social Responsibility

Lake Mary, FL– (October 21, 2016) Iberdrola  Mexico presented MHPS Americas an Award for Outstanding Equipment Provider at an event held in Mexico City on Oct. 18. The ceremony was attended by industry executives, managers and key employees of Iberdrola Mexico and more than a hundred guests.

The Iberdrola Outstanding Equipment Provider Award was presented by Iberdrola Mexico CEO Enrique Alba and Chairman Sergio Alcocer to MHPS Americas President and CEO Paul Browning. The award recognizes Iberdrola business partners for quality, innovation, job creation, respect for the environment, job safety, ethics, values and transparency. Iberdrola, which holds a similar program annually in Spain, extended the recognition program abroad to Mexico in 2016 to reiterate its commitment to economic and social development of the communities where it operates. The program reflects the importance of supplier partners in meeting Iberdrola’s objectives.

MHPS Americas has been working with Spain-based Iberdrola SA in Mexico on several projects. In 2016, MHPS Americas signed an agreement with Iberdrola to supply two J-series gas turbines, a steam turbine and long term service agreement for the 890 megawatt (MW) Noroeste Power Plant. Located in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, the combined cycle plant is expected to be online in 2019. In 2015, Iberdrola signed an agreement for two M501J gas turbines and one steam turbine for the CFE Noreste combined cycle power plant located in Escobedo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. This 850 MW plant is expected to be online in July 2018.
